Located
along the rugged shoreline of the southern Oregon
coast, Bandon Dunes Golf Resort
provides a unique golf experience. Conceived and
executed in harmony with the natural environment,
it is one of the few American golf retreats that
can truly lay claim to the legacy of Scotland’s
ancient links tradition. Golfers have their choice
of three distinct courses built on a magnificent
stretch of sand dunes perched above the Pacific
Ocean.
Remarkably different in character and shotmaking
requirements, Bandon Dunes, designed by Scotsman
David McLay Kidd, features expansive ocean views
while Pacific Dunes, designed by Tom Doak, emerges
from shore pines to towering dunes. The newest
course is Bandon Trails, designed by Bill Coore
and Ben Crenshaw. It begins atop a massive sand
dune, quickly opens into a sprawling meadow, works
higher into the coastal forest and returns to
finish in the dunes. Lodging and amenities at
the resort are all designed with the golfer in
mind. |
